Curt Shilling
As a pitcher, Shilling led the Phillies to the World Series in 1993 and later retired after winning the whole thing with the Red Sox twice. Following his retirement Shilling started developing video games and together with his partners they founded Green Monster Games which was later named 38 Studios. Following bad business days Shilling was forced to lay off the entire staff of the company a move that resulted into the company failing to meet its payroll obligations.

Mark Brunell
During his career Brunell played for four NFL teams and has won a single ring with New Orleans Saints. He retired in 2012 and opened his business Whataburger fast food in Jacksonville, Florida. Brunell went on to file for bankruptcy in 2010 due to failed business and real estate deals.

Jamal Lewis
Known to have won the Super Bowl XXXV with Baltimore Ravens as a rookie, Lewis spent 4 months in prison following drug charges and six years later Regions bank filed a lawsuit stating that he had not paid a debt of $660,000. He filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
