Meatball Shops Make $21 Million a Year Based on One Dish Source: Getty Images

In 2009, Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow opened The Meatball Shop in Manhattan. The two borrowed money from family and friends until they were able to raise $400,000 which they used as capital for the business. At a young age, Michael and Daniel worked for a vegan restaurant together. They made use of this very little experience and bravely formed a business plan armed with hope and confidence.

The two sold their products at a very reasonable price but they made it a point that the taste would not be sacrificed. It was recession time when they started the business and during those days, anything affordable and quality was a hit.

Now, The Meatball Shop that Michael and Daniel own already has several branches. There's one in Williamsburg, West Village, Chelsea, Upper East Side, and Upper West Side. Each branch earns around $3.5 million gross annually. They continue to increase their revenue by making a deal with known companies like Vans sneakers, Shut Skateboards, and Warby Parker. The Meatball Shops endorses these companies, and they return the favour by advertising.  

It works that Daniel and Michael have different personalities. One loves to talk to people and the other is more of an introvert. They know who has to handle a particular chore because they know each other so well. Another thing that makes them successful as business partners is that they both care about their employees. They hire the best staff and they make them feel appreciated.
